In the middle distance, a winding stream threads its way through the meadow—a ribbon of molten silver dividing the verdant expanse. A small, weathered fence disappears into the underbrush, forgotten by everything except the light. The mountains beyond loom like ancient witnesses, their peaks half-shrouded in cloud, capped in the faintest suggestion of remaining snow.
Larsen’s brushwork is both deliberate and restless: thick swathes of oil give weight to the brooding sky, while feathered strokes animate every blade of grass, every flickering leaf. The entire canvas hums with motion and memory, like the land is breathing in its sleep.
There is no human figure in sight, and yet the painting feels deeply personal—less a depiction of a place, and more a portrait of longing. A landscape shaped as much by Levi’s hand as by the ache of remembering something beautiful after it’s gone.
